Branding: Kent Enterprise Trust

Logo for Kent Enterprise Trust, a charity group from Kent, England. The charity was set up in the 1980s to enable training and employment opportunities for disadvantaged groups.

Formally known as Canterbury and District Enterprise Trust (CADET), Kent Enterprise trust changed its name in 2009 requiring a rebrand suitable for modern times.

The logo concept symbolises the fulfilment one will get after participating in any of the programs the trust runs. It depicts a splash of colour in the shape of a star which can also be seen as a human being. The colours are vibrant and positive, with different colours illustrating different walks of life people participating in the programs come from.

The lowercase letters are friendly and forward-moving, as the programs should be, and the ‘k’ in ‘kent’ has been customised to sit perfectly next to the one arm of the star.

One stipulation of the brief was that the logo needed to be adaptable to the programs the trust offers. For example, the Appleseed Landscapes can fall under the over-arching logo of Kent Enterprise Trust, with the logo for Appleseed being a single colour. This is true for all programs, and the logo has been designed so colour variations can be easily created for new programs.
