Sometimes it’s worth getting up early to catch a glimpse of what a Houston fall morning can deliver. There was a full week of this view on my ride to work heading east along Woodway Drive; warm tones in the distance, the building ahead reflecting the early cool tones of a few minutes before the sunrise. Breathtaking. Tap to view large :)
Another great ad playing currently on USA TV! I’ve watched it maybe 10 times and it’s still great :)
There are 99 (thousand) crap ads on TV, but the new Gatorade one with Kevin Durant and Dwyane Wade ain’t one…
Swim Good by Frank Ocean. This is one of my favourite songs I’ve discovered in the last few months. Kick back for five minutes and give it a listen. (Load up the lyrics on your second play through.) It comes from the free downloadable album/mixtape Nostalgia, ULTRA, an album I’ve really been thrashing over the last few months. I’m not really into R&B generally, but this album has a Lynchian darkness to it; like a slow , soft nightmare you don’t want to wake up from.
Love This is pretty great: A Lego model of the machines which produce the Lego pieces the model is made of! (aka 4000001 Moulding Machines). The set contains two models: one of the current injection moulding machine, as well as the vintage machine Lego used before things became automated. It’s a quite Inception-esque, has ‘playability’ (moving parts), and is made of Lego, so naturally I love it! Unfortunately I’ve known about this model for some time now, and swore that I’d get my hands on it somehow.
Kessy (keyless entry) on my new GTI is awesome: Kelly and I went out for dinner tonight. Poscol on Westhiemer might just be our new favourite “little Italian place”. It’s small, intimate, personable, and simple. It’s definitely not a dressy place, but I dressed it up with jeans and a black shirt all the same. Dinner was fantastic. It’s only four blocks from our place, around 10 mins walk at the most. On the way home I decided I wanted to pick up a few things from our local supermarket and test the GTI’s interior lighting and headlights.
I’m not usually absent-mindedly patriotic, but HOLY CRAP! Agnieszka Radwanska[1. Please don’t sue me for using a photo from your website :S] has been added to the BMW Malaysian Open roster! (Venus Williams and Jelena Dokic Marion Bartoli can’t make it — jam lah). So, I’m lobbin’ to the event like a mofo (see what I did there?). Anyone in need of design work over the next week will need to wait, sorry. (How I wish I’d’ve bought a Polish soccer jersey a couple years ago… :( Look mum, no images!
Continuing the theme of holy shit!?! but raising it a it’s made out of Lego!!!(and because I’ve been working more than thinking and writing recently).
Um… holy shit!?! Update Oh… I see… (Is it a coincidence that these things are UFO-shaped? Are they screwing with us?)
