The first time we’ve seen one of these guys in the neighbourhood :) hope to cross paths again soon 🤞
Now that Victoria’s 25km travel limit has been lifted it was time we got our official depth-o-pond-o-meter man (@pukatsai) to come out today to see how deep our pond actually is
With nerves of steel (and waders of rubber) he and his trusty leaning pole gracefully stepped out about 2 ½ metres into the abyss, got his nipples wet, and turned right back around again. Verdict: “it’s deep.” Money well spent!
I guess we’re having rabbit for lunch?
This winter was the first time I’d learned to prune roses right back to the stalks — just bare wood, 40–50s tall. Now look at them: going absolutely nuts!
Pulling germinating grass seeds all afternoon. The soil is moist from all the rain we’ve had and warm from the last couple days of sunshine. Garden is living its best life right now but unfortunately so are the “unwanted plants” aka weeds. Hurry up rest-of-the-plants, to grow and cover these unwanted little bastards from the sun.
